A chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has described the President-elect, Bola Tinubu as an Igbo man. The Jigawa State Police Command has warned against carrying dangerous weapons or items that may cause problems in the 29 May 2023 inauguration. Relatives of some of the 15 passengers kidnapped two days ago along the Calabar-Oron waterway have lamented that the militants may have overwhelmed the marine policemen who are usually stationed on the waterway.
